Artist Meme by Hehewuti Artist Meme by Hehewuti
I fucked up. I accidentally put a different artist in place of the one I originally meant >___<;; The mess up is the "Kindest Artist" one. The one who always gives me the awesome critiques is ~SirIsaac. ~littlemisswistful is still one of the nicest deviants I know though Q_Q She was very high on the aforementioned list. So sorry!!

Let me first say that the only reason I did this now was because it took me all of 5 minutes. I don't have a lot of down-time in my life right now, but I'm on lunch break so I figured I'd throw something out there.

Art Style
Artist: :iconatomicfireball:
Deviation: [link]

I picked AtmoicFireball, because he does a comic that, as some of you may have heard me mention, was one of the first webcomics I ever read. I immediately fell in love with his style, and watched as the art improved and developed along with the story. He is one of the biggest inspirations of my style, and what started to pull me away from anime and manga styles. I absolutely LOVE the way he draws hair, and I always try to mimic it in some way whenever I draw long hair. I also love the way he draws anatomy. Hands, feet, legs, hips, everything is so crisp and fine. I wish oh I wish that I could draw more like him.

Digital Paintings

I think I found this person after she got a DD for one of her pin-ups. Pin-ups are VERY hard to pull off, especially here on DA where pretty much anything can pass. But I find her pin-ups tasteful, beautiful, and...well, accurate. You can see here the roll of skin that bunches up from the way she's sitting. This artist doesn't deny the subjects their natural beauty. They are sexy and beautiful without being turned to sticks or unnatural figures. And finally, they're all powerful. Each one has a sly, playful smirk. She's confident, secure. Not timid and fearful that a lot of men seem to like these days.

Traditional Art
Deviation: [link]

I found this artist waaaaay back when I first joined years ago? Even to this day, the fantasy world that she brings to life is absolutely breathtaking. The images she paints are stunning, and it's like they're ripped out of a world that is buried deep in my mind. You know that feeling, when the wind blows, or the sun shines through the trees, or you hear a piece of music, all done in just the right way where it makes you feel like you're somewhere else, just for that brief moment? Like it's stirring some ancestral memories locked away. That is the feeling that her pictures give me. Like I belong there, in that world.

Deviation: [link]

Oh man. I knew exactly who I wanted to put here. Viria does a lot of fanart, but her Harry Potter fanart always draws a breathless "wow..." from my lips. Especially her Post-Fred George pictures...all of them, every time I see them, make me break out in tears. Simple colors, sketchy lines, minimal detail...but so. much. emotion. Her expressions, the poses, everything about them doesn't just tug at my heartstrings, it rips the whole damned thing out. All of her Harry Potter fanart really touches me in some way or another, but it's rare that one artist can produce so many images that affect me as much as she does.

Deviation: [link]

A simple example, because most of what she does it comics. About her Shepard, from Mass Effect. So if you don't play, they might not be as funny. But in the world of Mass Effect, there's a lot of fanart that is very solemn, serious. And I love it all. occasionally there's a joke about Shepards bad driving or some such, but SillyShepard plays all the characters in such a way, that I can't help but laugh at every single comic she makes. Even the ones I've seen before, I still get a good chuckle out of.

Oh man. There were so many I had picked out for this one. It was really hard to decide on one person, but I picked ~SirIsaac, because whenever I ask for it, they offer me great critiques on my artwork. They're constructive without being insulting, and lets me know exactly what I did wrong...AND what I did right. I appreciate someone who can handle that balance well.

Deviations (respectively): [link] [link]

I also had a hard time picking these two, but I'm happy with my choices.

I initially watched Rallya because of her fashion designs, which are incredible. She never ceases to amaze me with the things she comes up with, and nearly every time I think "I'd wear that! I'd wear that!" If I could, I'd be her exclusive model, so I could get to wear her amazing designs while showing them off to others.

VivaGarcia, I actually know...knew? Personally. We were mutual friends with a lot of people, went to school together, saw each other occasionally afterwards. We're not exactly BFF's, but he was always very nice to me and everyone around him. And his art, I'd watch him draw at lunch, and I always loved the things he could produce. His style has matured a lot, and a lot of it is very surreal/macabre, but I love it. He really puts a new spin on things, and his unfinished Zodiac series is one of the best series I've seen. He doesn't update frequently, but when he does, there's always a lot to look at =)
