The Sound of my Brain

I'm breaking

The echoing bass

Whizzing and spinning

I have been working on this picture....until 3 in the morning every day the past week. It wasn't NEARLY as hard as Crystall Ball, but I am honestly much, much happier with the results.

Crystal Ball was a tender, calm picture, whereas this one is MUCH more intense, and I honestly feel like I'm the only one who can really...feel this picture the way I want, because of how well I know Blake XD;; I hope that's not arrogant...

Anyway, I'm really really happy with how this came out...like REALLY. I might post another WIP gif of this one like I did with CB, but it might not be as impressive. I didn't include her pip-boy because I felt it would sour the image somehow...I'll try explaining it later when I'm not nodding off as I type @_@

I might look at it tomorrow and regret posting it too early, but I guess that's a problem for Future Me.

Beautiful use of color! The gradation in the background engages the negative space. Love how the green glow is carried through out the piece. Shading is impeccable. The use of perceptive is believable and adds drama to the entire piece.

Only docked for technique because I think the parts way he fades away could be done more gradually, or maybe in a different manner. I say this because since his flesh dissipates, his black line should do something similar. Also, the background is beautiful, but it feels empty somehow. Like, maybe add touches of a horizon line somewhere?

Overall excellent piece, and a beautiful milestone in your artistic journey.

I just KNEW I wasn't the only one that thought Imagine Dragons "Radioactive" sound like Fallout! But honestly it sounds a LOT more like FO3.

Really the only thing I'm iffy about, is the sand right at her right elbow. It just seems as if it just cuts off a little to soon... but other than that 10/10!

Thanks so much! Yeah, the sand was admittedly pretty half assed, and I think I could have done a better job if I had decided to go without lineart. Some days I go back to see if I can remove the lineart and touch it up a bit, but there's SO much to fix without it I just get immediately demotivated XD

No seriously I don't think I made this clear enough with my previous comment. This is FUCKING AWESOME and you should feel FUCKING AWESOME for it.

Also goes well with this and this, I think. The second one is, to my knowledge, supposed to be from the perspective of a fetus whose mother is dying of radiation poisoning from nuclear fallout. It's... kind of horrifying, actually. Not as hard-core as Imagine Dragons though, certainly. I used to have a playlist that was nothing but songs about nuclear holocaust. >__>

As for the songs, I really really like the first one...a couple other people have showed me songs they think go with this picture, but yours is definitely the best so far. I love the sound, I love the lyrics...I have a specific playlist just for this character, and that song is going on it XD As for the second, I like the lyrics but the singing style just isn't my flavor, y'know?

I totally understand on the Kate Bush song. She isn't really my style either, that's the only song of her's I enjoy and only because of the subject/lyrics. Hmm.... now I wonder if anyone has made a harder cover of it...
